Senior guard Radoslava Bachvarova scored 16 points and senior post player Quanitra Hollingsworth delivered a double-double (12 points and 14 rebounds) as VCU’s women thumped James Madison 61-43 in today’s CAA showdown at the Siegel Center. The victory left VCU (11-2, 21-4) and Drexel alone atop the CAA women’s standings. James Madison, which played without high-scoring guard Dawn Evans, fell out of the first-place tie. Nina Uqdah delivered a double-double (10 points and 10 rebounds) for the Dukes.
Evans did not play because of a sprained ankle suffered early in the first half of last Thursday’s game against Hofstra. JMU for slipped to 10-3, 17-7.
