It is being reported by the Richmond Times-Dispatch that rising junior VCU Guard, Joey Rodriguez will be transferring from VCU. Rodriguez is transferring back closer to his home of Oviedo, FL. He was part of VCU’s former coach, Anthony Grant’s first recruiting class at VCU. This makes the 3rd player lost (Lance Kearse, Myk Brown, Rodriguez) that was recruited to VCU by former coach Anthony Grant. We will have more on this as it is released.

Joey Rodriguez, a two-year starter at guard for Virginia Commonwealth University, has decided to transfer.
Rodriguez's father, Joe, said his son wants to get closer to their home in Oviedo, Fla., now that former VCU coach Anthony Grant has become Alabama's new coach. Rodriguez was part of Grant's first recruiting class at VCU.
"The biggest issue is the fact that Coach [Grant] is not there anymore," Joe Rodriguez said. "He wants to try to finish up somewhere in Florida that will be closer to home. That's always been an issue with Joey."
