RAMS DRAW NO. 2 SEED FOR CAA TOURNEY

NORFOLK, Va. – Virginia Commonwealth University has earned the No. 2 seed for the Colonial Athletic Association Championship April 16-19 at Old Dominion’s Folkes-Stevens Tennis Center.
The Rams (16- will receive a first round bye and take on either No. 7 Drexel or No. 10 Hofstra on Friday, April 17 at 2 p.m. in the quarterfinals. With a victory, VCU would advance to Saturday’s semifinals at 10 a.m. The CAA Championship match will be played on Sunday, April 19 at 10 a.m.
Georgia State (8-4), which will be seeking its first CAA title, received the No. 1 overall seed.
The Tribe are the defending champions and have captured 20 of 24 CAA crowns. The Rams won the tournament in 2003 and 2006. VCU and William & Mary have met in the last six consecutive CAA Championship matches.
