RAMS FINISH 14TH AT ADMINISTAFF ASU INVITATIONAL
Black & Gold battle through tough final day
RICHMOND, Va. – Sometimes things just don’t go as planned and that’s exactly what happened for the Virginia Commonwealth University golf team on Sunday afternoon.
In the final round of the Administaff Augusta State University Invitational, the Rams posted a 16-over par as a team, finishing 14th in the prestigious 17-team field.
Junior Lanto Griffin (Blacksburg, Va.) finished his round strong with two birdies on the back nine to finish up with the Black & Gold’s best score of the day at one-over.
Griffin finished with a three-under, 213 for the tournament, good for a 26th-place tie.
Sophomore Mark Jargren (Helsingborg, Sweden) continued his strong spring season with a two-over, 218, the second-highest score on the Rams roster.
The Rams will hit the links hard this week and prepare for a strong outing at the upcoming Palisades Intercollegiate in Charlotte, N.C. Day one of the tournament is scheduled for Monday, April 13th.
